Getting here
Located on the Oosterdok in the centre of Amsterdam, NEMO is easy to reach by public transport. The museum’s eye-catching copper-green building is easy to spot, even from a distance.
From Amsterdam Central Station
On foot
NEMO is a 15-minute walk from Amsterdam Central Station. Leave the station through the main exit (on the city centre side) and turn left.
By bus
Take bus 22 heading for Muiderpoort station and get off at Kadijksplein. NEMO is roughly a 5-minute walk from the bus stop. Plan your trip with the 9292 online route planner or on the GVB public transport website.
Roadworks around Amsterdam Central Station
There are currently a lot of roadworks in the vicinity of Amsterdam Central Station. Due to diversions, it may take slightly longer to reach NEMO on foot.
Navigating via Google Maps is not always reliable because of the frequent changes. Tip: Use the ANWB route planner, which is often a bit more precise.

Coaches
Coaches can park in the special parking facilities for buses: P2 at the Amsterdam Passenger Terminal. Schoolkids can be dropped off at NEMO’s west quay until 11:00. However, this is not permitted at the regular bus stops or elsewhere along Prins Hendrikkade. After 11:00, you are advised to use boarding and disembarkation stop H11 near the Maritime Museum.
The City of Amsterdam website has more information on the regulations for coaches.
Cultuur Ferry
Cultuur Ferry is a hop-on hop-off connection on Amsterdam’s waterways that enables passengers to discover all kinds of museums and cultural institutions, including NEMO. The Culture Ferry operates in July and August. Tickets for the museums have to be bought separately.
