Tulip Festival
Come and admire the beautiful tulips on the roof at NEMO during the Tulip Festival in April 2024. Access to the roof is free of charge during the NEMO opening hours, via the stairs on the east side of the museum. Apart from the tulips, the Rooftop Square is home to the open-air exhibition Energetica, a large outdoor terrace and the Museum Restaurant.
Which tulips are on display
From 1 April until 30 April, there are four different varieties of tulips on display on the Rooftop Square:
- Red Princess, red tulips
- Hermitage, orange tulips
- Princess Margriet, yellow tulips flamed with purple
- Pretty Princess, soft pink tulips flamed with dark pink
These tulips are mixed together and distributed across the Roof Square to represent the city's diversity.
About the Tulp Festival
The Tulip Festival brightens up Amsterdam's streetscape throughout the month of April and takes you on a voyage of discovery to dozens of locations with hundreds of thousands of tulips. The blooming tulips mark the main walking routes and enliven shopping streets and centres, squares and bridges in all parts of the city. The Tulip Festival also adds colour to residential neighbourhoods and parks and gardens of museums and hotels. 2024 is an extra festive edition of the Tulip Festival, as it marks the 10th anniversary of the festival.
