Solar eclipse from NEMO’s rooftop

On Wednesday 12 August, a partial solar eclipse will be visible in the Netherlands. For this special occasion, NEMO’s rooftop will be open to visitors. Bring your own eclipse glasses, get a drink from the rooftop bar and enjoy this unique natural phenomenon.

Solar Eclipse


On Wednesday 12 August, the largest solar eclipse in 27 years will take place. In the Netherlands, around 90% of the Sun will be covered. In Amsterdam, the eclipse starts at approximately 19:16, reaching its maximum at around 20:11. The eclipse will end at approximately 21:03 pm. You can watch the eclipse from NEMO’s rooftop.

Time: The rooftop closes at 21.15.
Price: Free access via the stairs on the east side of the building
Food and drinks: Drinks and various snacks are available. The restaurant is not open.
Please note: Special eclipse glasses are mandatory.
Registration is not required, but rooftop capacity is limited. Arrive on time to make sure you have a spot.
