SAIL at NEMO
To celebrate the 10th edition of SAIL Amsterdam, NEMO will be hosting four evenings of live music from 20 to 23 August.on the rooftop square, overlooking the harbour. On Thursday 21 August, you can attend the awards ceremony of the Pieremachocheltocht and admire the dazzling procession of handcrafted vessels.

Pieremacocheltocht awards ceremony
On Thursday 21 August, Amsterdam’s canals will host a colourful line-up of handcrafted vessels sailing from IJhaven to Oosterdok near NEMO. The best, most dazzling and least seaworthy vessels will compete for a prize at the awards ceremony on the rooftop square, with music by a shanty choir.
PARRA.DICE
Taking centre stage on Rooftop Square on 21 August is PARRA.DICE, a nine-strong collective (f/x) uniting woodwind and brass, strings and a cracking rhythm section. Experience an unforgettable evening of jazz, soul and international grooves woven into a danceable, high-energy mix. This concert is hosted in collaboration with Amsterdam’s Grachtenfestival.
Summer on the roof
In July and August, the rooftop square will be open until 21:00 on Thursdays and Fridays, with live music on Thursdays. During SAIL from 20 to 23 August, you can enjoy free musical performances every evening. Those dates, the roof closes at 23:00. The restaurant will be serving food and drinks all evening. The rooftop can be accessed via the steps on the outside of the building or the lift in NEMO’s entrance hall.
