Traffic lights, pencil sharpeners and ants

Do you know who invented the amber traffic light, who designed the modern pencil sharpener or who discovered that ants can also learn and feel? These and many other important inventions and discoveries were made by black inventors and researchers from the past.

In the mini-exhibition Colourful Science, you’ll discover the stories of ten inspiring black inventors and researchers.

Colourful Science
has been developed by the Black Achievement Month Foundation and NEMO Science Museum. The exhibition is on display only on 31 October and 1 November, in the Theatre on the second floor. It is open to all visitors to NEMO.
