Have you ever eaten a water bottle?

Look around you on the street, at a sports field or at a party. There are small plastic bottles everywhere. There is no deposit on these bottles, so most of them will not be recycled. In England, this gave a few people a bright idea. They came up with a type of water packaging that you can simply eat, along with the liquid it contains.

The idea
They call it Ooho, a biodegradable and edible water bottle shaped like a ball. You put the entire ball in your mouth, and then eat and drink it. Ooho is made from seaweed. Compared to plastic bottles, Ooho is cheaper to make, and its production process uses up less water and less energy.

Huge success!
The people who created Ooho have now tested their invention at various marathons and festivals, as well as on the street. It was a huge success, so now they’ve set up and funded their own company! Ooho can be used to hold other liquids besides water as well.
