Here in the Netherlands, you see bicycles everywhere you look. Maybe you hop on a bike yourself every day. When you think of a bike, a picture automatically forms in your mind… But, can you draw one from memory?
Test yourself
Grab a piece of paper and a pencil. Without looking, start to draw a bicycle. Do not oversimplify; try to make your drawing as detailed as possible.
Conclusion
Take a good look at your drawing. Is your bike complete? Does it have two wheels, handlebars, a chain guard, a saddle, pedals, spokes, a frame, a front and rear light, a stand, a bell, a luggage carrier and gears?
Look at a real bike and compare it to your drawing: what other parts can you see? Did you draw those too?
