Getting here

NEMO is easily accessible by public transport. The museum’s eye-catching copper-green building is easy to spot from Amsterdam Central Station.

From Amsterdam Central Station

  • On foot: A 15-minute walk. Leave the main entrance (cityside) of Central Station and turn left.
  • By bus: Take Bus 22 and get off at Kadijksplein. From the bus stop it is a 5-minute walk. You can plan your journey at www.9292.nl or www.gvb.nl

There is currently construction on the road around Amsterdam Central Station. Due to diversions, the duration is sometimes slightly longer. Navigating via Google Maps is not always reliable due to many changes. Tip: Use ANWB routeplanner.

By car

NEMO is accessible by car. Keep in mind, however, that parking in the centre of Amsterdam can be quite expensive. For more information on getting to the museum, you can check out:

Address

Parking

Parking in the centre of Amsterdam is an expensive business. NEMO does not have any parking facilities of its own. There are four car parks quite close to NEMO. Please note that each car park sets its own rates, and that these may be subject to change. See the car park website for details of current parking rates. The various P+R locations on the edge of the city are a cheaper option.

P+R car parks

Markenhoven parking

Coaches

Coaches can park in the special parking facilities for buses: P2 on Prins Hendrikkade towards Central Station or P6 at the Amsterdam Passenger Terminal.

Would you like the coach to drop off your pupils at NEMO first? They can be dropped off at the west quay close to NEMO until 11.00, but not at the regular bus stops or elsewhere along Prins Hendrikkade. After 11.00 we suggest that you use drop-off point H11 by the Maritime Museum.

For more information, take a look at the instructions for coaches at www.amsterdam.nl.
